I was invited to participate in the workshop on social and political participation that took place in Cracow, Poland, Jagiellonian University, on December 3rd, 2019. Together with Clémence Ledoux from the University of Nantes and Katharina Zimmermann from the University of Hamburg, we presented the main issues related to social and political polarization to the group of international students in our three countries (France, Germany and Poland) and then prepared the students’ ambassadors for asking questions to the three panelists invited for an evening plenary session.
A very intense day, requiring various types of skills, but also very rewarding when listening to confident (female) students asking questions to three established (male) politicians: Jean-Marc Ayrault, Former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of France, Hans-Gert Pöttering, Former President of the European Parliament and Bartłomiej Wróblewski, Member of the Polish Parliament (Sejm) and Chair of the German-Polish Parliamentarian Group, Law and Justice Party (PiS).
